8th Swarozgar - Vyapar Mela '2007

This fair a gateway to the Global Investors Summit to be held in Jabalpur in February '2008 was held in December '2007 in association with the Directorate of Industries, Govt of M.P. and M.P. A.K.V.N (Jabalpur) Ltd. The fair inaugurated by Shri Ishwar Das Rohani, Speaker, M.P. Legislative Assembly and Smt. Sushila Singh, Mayor, Jabalpur attracted participants from all over the country.



The Career Fair 2007 was by far the biggest career fair held in Jabalpur. Organised in association with the hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, the fair broke all  previous records of participants and visitors. The fair was inaugurated jointly by the health education minister of M.P. Shri Ajay Vishnoi and the vice-chancellor of the Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University,Shri D.P. Singh. In the fair the focus area was the BPO industry and seminar sessions were conducted on the employment  opportunities in this area.


We strongly feel that the business persons who have contributed a great deal in growing and expanding their business and in turn have contributed a lot towards the economy and society in general are landmarks for others to follow. They carve a niche for themselves and inspire others to follow their foot-steps. Such business persons belonging to various industries and trades were honoured by the JCCI in the Annual Business Awards hosted in the year 2007. The awards were categorised into 51 categories involving various facets. The awards were distributed in a graceful atmosphere by the commerce & industry minister of M.P. Shri Jayant Mallaiya Ji in the esteemed presence of the mayor Jabalpur Mrs. Sushila Singh,collector Shri Sanjay Dubey and the municipal corporation commissioner,  Shri O.P. Shrivastava.


The JCCI in its constant endeavour to create awareness and education amongst its members towards a healthy lifestyle organised the above programme. The talk on the Reversal & Prevention of Heart Disease was delivered by the eminent cardiologists of Jabalpur. There was lipid profile and diabetes check-up camp also organised on the same day. It was attended by the fellow members in large numbers.



In the series of Career fairs, The Career Fair 2006 was another feather in the cap. It was inaugurated by the Mayor of Jabalpur Mrs. Sushila Singh. The fair was held in association with the popular hindi daily of Jabalpur, Dainik Bhaskar. The fair attracted the youth in large numbers specially the girls due to the steady participation of the aviation institutes. The fair was a  major success and attracted huge gathering.



To make the business community heart risk free and reduce the risk of heart disease,the JCCI organised the Heart Talk programme,a useful workshop conducted by  the famous cardiologist of India,Dr.Bimal Chajjer of New Delhi. His talk on the Zero Oil Cooking and Reversal and Prevention of Heart Disease and thrust to minimise the risk of heart ailments through various methodologies was greatly appreciated by the huge assembly of the business  persons from all walks of life.


The Career Fair 2005 was another career orientation event for the 10+2 students and attracted huge participation by institutes relating to dental, engineering, medical, homoeopathy, ayurvedic, hotel management, business management, aviation, overseas education and others. It was organised in association with the hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar. Special lectures were conducted by the speakers on vivid topics and free career guidance was conducted for the benefit of the students.

Workshop on Beauty & Cosmetology 2005

The JCCI organised a workshop on beauty and cosmetology in the year 2005 where beauticians from all over the city were present in large numbers. The workshop was conducted by the experts of the Indian film industry and it continued for four days. Topics included were on the various facets of beauty and major companies in field of beauty participated in the event.





Considering the huge market potential of the wedding industry, the Wedding Fair was held in the year 2005 and inaugurated by the Collector Jabalpur.According to industry estimates the Indian wedding industry is growing rapidly at an annual rate of 30%.The participant companies from various trade and industry were present in the grandeur realting to the wedding industry such as jewellery,invitation cards, catering, hotel, attires, automobile, appliances, cosmetics and others. In the fair the married couples who completed their fifty golden years of marriage were honoured and felicitated by the JCCI. The fair was held to contribute to the growing wedding industry in India.


The JCCI resolves its commitment towards the growth and development of the business community and for this purpose all possible efforts would be undertaken. The JCCI believes in the symbiosis of public-private partnership and the melange of such relations would bring-in the metamorphosis and transform the society into a better place to live in. We solemn to organise periodic vivid constructive activities as always in the interest of the business community and people at large.


The dream to inculcate the spirit of self-employment amongst the youth and the needy, to spur-up the pace of industrialisation in this region, to create awareness amongst the entrepreneurs regarding the recent technologies and to pave a platform for marketing of the products of local industries ignited the passion within us to organise the SWAROZGAR  MELA for the first time in the year 1996. The concept was novel and the state government played a pivotal role in participating in the fair. The government stalls were provided free of cost and the PMRY beneficiaries were also provided with the stalls to market their products and services. The fair was appreciated and applauded by all and the inspiration and motivation given by the state government to us provided us the stimuli to organise such a fair every year. The presence of the then chief minister Shri Digvijay Singh Ji and the ministers Shri Ajay Narayan Mushran, Rajendra Singh, N.P.Prajapati, Harvansh Singh, Pushpraj Singh and others made the event a grand one.


The huge potential in the leather and hyde industry thrived us to organise the first leather fair in Jabalpur. The city of Jabalpur has a lot to offer in the leather segment and the need of a Leather Complex with the modern facilities for the benefit of the manufacturers is required. The representatives from the Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai enlightened the participants with the latest technologies and the market conditions in the leather industry.



The Swarozgar Mela 1997 was a huge success and for the first time in Jabalpur, an event of such grace and marvel was organised. The fair was attended by the participants from all over the country including the representatives of the Australian Embassy. The machinery section, agriculture, technology, handicraft, career guidance, marketing and other pavilions were highly appreciated and acknowledged by the visitors. The fair was inaugurated by the then Industries Minister of M.P., Shri Rajendra Singh.


This was the first ever trade fair on the electricals-electronics industry and was graced by a rich assembly  of participants from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. The focus area was the business potential existing in the organisations like the MPSEB, Telecom Factory, Defence Factories and the market in general.The fair was inaugurated by the then Commissioner Jabalpur Division.

Bharatiya Nari Swarozgar Mela 1999

In the constant endeavour to promote self-employment amongst the women, the Bharatiya Nari Swarozgar Mela was held in the year 1999. Here the focus as the name suggests was on the promotion of entrepreneurship amongst women. Thought provoking seminars on various topics of mass interest such as procurement of finance for the women entrepreneurs, project identification, market feasibility of the projects etc. were conducted for their benefit. Various competitions on different themes were also organised. In the fair, the Toys Fair and the Auto Show was also organised to promote such industries in this region.


In the series of events for the promotion of trade and industry in this part of the country the Swarozgar-Vyapar Mela 2000 was held at the garisson ground in association with the District Administration, Jabalpur. The focus was on the readymade garment industry and for the benefit of such manufacturers,a Ready Made Garment Machinery Expo was held where the the major machinery manufacturers from all over the country were present. There was also the Auto Show and the Toys Fair adding attraction to the event. The Readymade Garment Manufacturing Association was allotted a big space to display their creations and work of art. A fashion show involving the presence of major male- female models from the Indian fashion industry was a major attraction. The fair was inaugurated by the then union minister of state for commerce & industry, Shri Raman Singh. The then chief minister of M.P. Shri Digvijay Singh Ji also visited and praised the event.


The JCCI joined hands with the department of Women and Child Welfare and Mahila Arthik Vikas Nigam to organise the Swarozgar-Mamatva Mela in which the participants from all over the state of M.P. were present displaying the products of cottage industries prominently. The women entrepreneurs were given the focus and thought provoking seminars were conducted on the various topics of entrepreneurship. The fair was inaugurated by the union minister of state for heavy machinery Dr. Vallabh Bhai Kathiriya along- with the state ministers of the erstwhile unified M.P. Shri K.K Gupta, Shri Shravan Patel and Mrs. Ganga Bai Ureti.


Jashn, a musical star night graced by the celebrity star performers of the Indian film industry namely Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan was organised to mark the end of the Jabalpur Shopping Carnival, a one month shopping extravaganza in the city. This was the first time that a musical night of such magnitude was held in the city of Jabalpur. The programme was a huge success.


As a responsibility to promote the khove ki jalebi trade in the city the most unique competition amongst the khove ki jalebi manufacturers was held. The people got the taste of the finest delicacies exhibited by the sweet vendors. For the promotion of the jalebi trade experts from the Poly Technology Transfer Centre and SISI were invited to conduct seminars on khove ki jalebi  processing.





Realising the huge phenomenon and employment generation in the Pan industry, the JCCI organised the Pan competition where the major Pan manufacturers in Jabalpur presented their work of art. Pan varieties were outstanding and never so delicious. The thrust was to popularise the Pan trade and the related industry. This was for the first time that such a competition was held and the Pan industry taken seriously.




The union minister of state for commerce & industry Dr. Raman Singh inaugurating the Swarozgar - Vyapar Mela alongwith the Member of Parliament from Jabalpur Mrs. Jayshree Banerjee.


This trade fair was organised in the period of festivities between Dusherra and Deepawali in association with the deptt. of Industries, govt. of M.P. and participants from all facets of trade and industry were present. The fair was inaugurated by the then Commerce & Industries Minister of M.P. Shri Narendra Nahta Ji.




The most unique shopping extravaganza in the central India for a period of one month comprising of Dusherra and Deepawali festivals was a major event. In this novel concept the concerned shopping establishments in the city registered themselves and on every purchase from such establishments constituting a certain amount, free entry passes to the Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan musical night were provided. The musical programme was organised by the JCCI and it is by far the most successful and grand event held in Jabalpur. The theme of the Jabalpur Shopping Carnival was to promote the trade and business activities in the city. There were ninety five shopping establishments covered under the scheme and estimated business worth crores was done by such establishments.


On the ocassion of the historic Narmada Mahakumbh held in the year 2003 at Gwarighat, Jabalpur at the banks of the holy Narmada river the Swarozgar-Vyapar Mela was held in association with the District Administration, Jabalpur. The focus area was the traditional Indian industry of 'Pujan Samagri' articles. The fair was jointly inaugurated by the then advocate general of M.P. Shri Vivek Tankha, MLA Shri Harendrajeet Singh, the Collector Jabalpur and others. The response was phenomenal as the participants from the rural areaa adjoining Jabalpur were present in large numbers. The atmosphere and the theme was rural-religious India and the stall participants also were absorbed in the religious fervour.



The JCCI has resolved to work for the career orientation of the youth and future of India. The Career Fair held in the year 2004 was another such programme involving the esteemed participation of educational and training institutes from all over the country. For the first time in the city a huge conglomeration of educational institutes under one roof was witnessed by enthusiasts from all walks of life. The fair was held in association with the prominent hindi daily of the city 'Dainik Bhaskar'. Free career guidance and placement consultancy was offered by experts on various topics and fields.The fair was inaugurated by the Collector Jabalpur and the advocate general of M.P. High Court and it turned out to be huge success.



The most popular fair in the central India,The Swarozgar-Vyapar Mela was held in the year 2005 in association with the department of industry, Govt. of M.P. and was joined by the various regiments of the Indian Army from states such as Bihar, Chhatisgarh, U.P., Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttaranchal and of course Madhya Pradesh. The products manufactured by the regiments of the Indian Army were for the first time displayed and sold in the open  market. The fair was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding In-Chief of the MB Area. The fair witnessed the privileged participation of the organisations from all over. The thrust activity was the I.T.industry and the beauty and cosmetology industry where workshops were conducted on the various facets of beauty and styling graced by luminaries of the Indian film industry.
